According to the classification standard formulated by the Customs, the fork-lift trucks and industrial handling trucks described in this report are classified into two categories, whose H.S. codes are 8427 and 8709 respectively
The H.S. code corresponding to fork-lift trucks and other working vehicles fitted with lifting or handling equipments is 8427. Accordingly some other electric fork-lift trucks and working vehicles fitted with lifting or handling equipments, container fork-lift trucks, other power-driven fork-lift trucks, other working vehicles fitted with lifting or handling equipments, and working vehicles with lifting or handling equipments such as non-specified fork-lift trucks can be specifically included in the category of the following four H.S. codes

The total import and export volume of China’s fork-lift truck products from January to August of 2006 reached US7 million; and that in the whole year of 2006 is expected to attain US0 mllion, increasing by 31.08% than that of 2004. The total import and export of fork-lift truck products amounted to 931,000 in 2005 while 801,100 during the first 8 months of 2006, and it is expected in the whole year of 2006 to rise by 29.07% compared to that of 2005.
